Bolingbrook student receives pep rally before National Spelling Bee Finals
ComEd hosted a pep rally on Thursday, May 17, for three students who will represent DuPage, Will and suburban Cook counties at the National Spelling Bee Finals in Washington, D.C. Kimberly Belser, a seventh-grader at Humphrey Middle School in Bolingbrook, will represnt Will County.
During the rally, held at ComEd's Commercial Center in Oak Brook, ComEd organized a mock spelling bee competition with the students as employees and elected officials from their hometowns wished them good luck leading up to the national competition later this month.
This is the fifth consecutive year ComEd sponsored the DuPage County, Will County and suburban Cook County spelling bee champions. The county spelling bees took place in late February and early March. ComEd is covering all expenses for the three regional winners and their families to attend the National Spelling Bee Finals in Washington, D.C., from May 27 – June 1.
