Event raises $85,000 for hospital’s disease management center

Bolingbrook – The Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation raised $85,000 for Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital’s Creation Health Center for Chronic Disease Management & Rehabilitation at “A Splendid Evening: Una Noche Esplendida.”

Approximately 320 people attended the event, which took place May 12 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. The event featured the energetic rhythm and undeniable beauty of Flamenco-inspired Latin music.

“We are so grateful to the community and especially grateful to our sponsors for supporting ‘A Splendid Evening,’” said Rick Mace, chief executive officer of Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital. “In addition to raising funds benefitting our Creation Health Center, we were able to increase awareness of the programs and services available at our hospital.”

Featuring strumming guitars, stomping feet, and artistic movement from professionally trained Latin artists,

the event was the foundation’s major fundraiser of 2011. The Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation furthers Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital’s mission through philanthropy.

American Family Insurance and Quantum Foods were the presenting sponsors. Other sponsors included Gordon Biersch, Mago Grill and Cantina, the Bolingbrook Golf Club, Peak Construction, and the Law Offices of Neil J. Greene.

Proceeds benefit Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital’s Creation Health Center. This multi-specialty outpatient center utilizes the eight universal principles of health to empower patients to improve their quality of life by managing their chronic diseases with self-care routines and ongoing medical care.
