Chicagoan Tali Clavijo continues making headway after dodging elimination yet again
CHICAGO – June 25, 2012 - Northside Musician, Tali Clavijo, 30, has already eluded elimination twice this season on Fox’s MasterChef, starring Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, and Graham Elliot. Tali advanced again Tuesday night and into the “final 14”, despite Chef Ramsay calling Tali “…more confused than anybody right now.”
Tuesday night’s episode featured Tali’s dish: Paprika Buttered Crab with Saffron and Watercress Sauce. Chef Graham Elliot commented that the dish looked like “…a horror movie.” And Chef Gordon Ramsay suggested that Tali should start packing his knives. All three judges were disappointed to find that Tali used the crabmeat to flavor the sauce and not as the main element in the dish. After the judges hated his crab dish, Tali claimed, “They’re not seeing the art behind the plate here. It’s like mind boggling. Honestly, I think that my stuff is so good, that they can’t even see the potential.” 
Perhaps convinced of Tali’s potential as well, Chef Gordon Ramsay spared Tali from Elimination Tuesday night, but not before cautioning him that his “food hasn’t found its identity [yet].” Tali scrapes by once again.
Upcoming shows are Monday, June 25, Tuesday, June 26, Monday July 2, and Tuesday, July 3. The June 25th and 26th shows will feature Tali competing in a team to prepare hearty breakfast meals for hungry hotel guests. Following that round, Tali must compete in the “mystery box” challenge, testing his amateur creativity with ingredients worth only twenty dollars. That last round Tali must whip up his favorite dessert for the judges. And as usual, one contestant will be sent home.
