Bolingbrook – Dr. Russell Petrak, an infectious diseases specialist, has been appointed to the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation board of directors.

The foundation furthers the mission of Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital through philanthropy.

“Dr. Petrak’s expertise as a physician will be an asset to our board,” said Derek Cazeau, executive director of the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation.

A longtime member of Adventist Hinsdale Hospital’s medical staff, Petrak joined the medical staff of Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital when it opened in 2008. Petrak said he sees serving on the board as a way of giving back to the community.

“Although it’s not yet five years old, Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital has already made a positive impact on the community,” Petrak said. “I look forward to supporting the hospital through my work on the foundation board.”

In practice since 1985, Petrak is board certified in infectious diseases and internal medicine. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Petrak lives in Burr Ridge with his wife, Susan. He has three children.
