At 5:48 p.m., 65-year-old female was driving a Chevy Astro van eastbound on Boughton Road. When she turned onto Ashbury, she hit a pedestrian in the area of the cross walk, pinning her under the van.
Fire officials found the woman pinned between the front wheel and the wheel well. Officials stabilized the car and lifted the car off of the woman using pneumatic air bags, according to Bolingbrook Fire Chief David Litton.
The woman reported pain to her back, abdomen, hip and jaw bone and had numerous abrasions. She was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove because of the nature of her trauma, Litton said. Good Sam is a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Sixteen minutes passed between fire crews arriving on the scene and the woman being removed from under the car.
The nature of the injury did not appear life-threatening, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa. The incident remains under investigation.
The incident shut down Boughton Road for more than an hour.
Bolingbrook police tweeted "Boughton closed at Ashbury due to vehicle accident." at 6:30 p.m. Police then tweeted Boughton Road was re-opened at 7:11 p.m.

We need a light there. Bolingbrook just has a lot of traffic which means more people. The city has buses. The town is constantly growing. Please up a light there it's four lanes of traffic with a turn, and a Bolingbrook Park District building with the golf course on the corner.

I hope that the young lady is ok.
Do you know why there was never a story about the Bolingbrook High School girl that was hit by a drunk driver while walking in Woodridge in January? From my understanding, it was a pretty serious accident and she was in ICU at Good Sam in Downers Grove for a long time.

Melissa,
I guess that's my point. Why is this story on the Patch and the other one wasn't?
How does the Patch go about gathering the information for the stories that they publish?
Is there any way for a reporter from the Patch to look over the police records or do they just write about the incidents that are released by the local police departments?
It just seems a little odd that something so serious was never reported about by any news source.

My understanding is that in addition to many broken bones, the girl is still suffering from some serious injuries as a result of spinal compression and is in a rehab facility.
