A Bolingbrook home was ransacked Jan. 17, according to Bolingbrook police.

The residential burglary took place in the 600 block of Pinecrest Road between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The homeowner discovered the garage door had been pried open. Rooms were ransacked and numerous pieces of jewelry were stolen. The loss was valued at $30,000.
It is the sixth residential burglary reported in January.
