Alleged Father/Son Pot-Growers Nabbed in Bolingbrook
Larry and Matthew Stokes of Bolingbrook were arrested after police found 33 cannabis plants and more than 1,000 grams of loose cannabis, officials said.
A Bolingbrook father and son were arrested Dec. 14 after officials said they found more than 1,000 grams of loose cannabis and 33 cannabis plants.
Bolingbrook and Plainfield police helped the DEA execute a search warrant that netted $175,000 worth of marijuana at a Bolingbrook home, police said.
Larry Stokes, 61, and son Matthew Stokes, 32, were arrested Dec. 14 at their home in the 800 block of Aberdeen Court after authorities searched the house and discovered 33 cannabis plants and 1,048 grams of loose cannabis, according to police.
Members of the Will County Cooperative Police Assistance Team and the Joliet Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad also assisted in the search.
Bond for both father and son was set at $50,000, meaning each would have to post $5,000 to be released. Both were being held Monday at the Will County jail.
The men were charged with manufacture/delivery of 30-500 grams of cannabis, possession of 30-500 grams of cannabis, producing 20-50 cannabis plants and producing more than five cannabis plants, according to Will County records. They were due in court Monday afternoon.

Apparently this website likes to repost articles and clear out the comments when it makes the police look bad. Once again, kudos to you bpd for getting these dangerous plant growers off the streets. We're all soooo much safer now...

Great job BPD for arresting these low life scum.

How sad. Instead of bringing in gang bangers or people wielding high powered assault rifles, BPD goes after an old man who probably smokes weed for medicinal purposes. Probably wasn't hurting anyone or anything. How did the police know about these two? I am sure there are worse crimes going on in Bolingbrook and the surrounding areas.

I believe that the police know about so many druggies and their activities that they can almost pick and choose the ones they want and when they want to round them up. But the streets also need to be patrolled and the schools have priorities also. Heroin will be available soon after some dealer is arrested. Gang bangers are smart enough to lay low most of the time and the "high powered assault rifles" are still legal at this time.

Yeah marijuana kills. But synthetic drugs that Big pharmacy gives doesn't. What a joke. The government knows what is "good" for us.

These guys were short sighted. They could have been conducting online gun shows from their house and they would be free and wealthy as we speak.
