Around the Southwest Suburban Blue: Raiders Remain Unbeaten, Atop Standings

With the Bolingbrook Raiders' 49-13 win over Joliet Central, the team now takes over as the top-rated offense and defense in the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference.

 

Bolingbrook 49, Joliet West 12: Aaron Bailey's showcased his versatility, keeping Bolingbrook's perfect season in tact after four games. Bailey accounted for five touchdowns and 159 yards of total offense in the Raiders' 49-12 win against Joliet West on Friday. The 37-point victory boosted Bolingbrook's record to 4-0. Lockport Township 38, Joliet Central 6Billy Reed threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as Lockport scored early and often in a 38-6 victory over Joliet Central in a SouthWest Suburban Blue battle Friday night at Lockport. The two touchdown passes were the first of the season for the Porters, who improved to 3-1, 1-1. Lincoln-Way East 38, Homewood-Flossmoor 21: Griffins QB Blake Winkler and receiver J.J. Robertson burn the Vikings, who hurt their own cause with five turnovers. In a showdown between two of the Southland's premier high school football teams, Lincoln-Way East had more than enough firepower to hand Homewood-Flossmoor its first loss of the season on homecoming night at H-F. Winkler threw for 356 yards and two touchdowns while going 10-for-14 passing, as L-W East earned a 38-21 victory at H-F and remained unbeaten. (Mokena Patch)

Sandburg 31, Lincoln-Way Central 28Sandburg and Lincoln-Way Central traded blows on the ground all night Friday, but the Eagles went to the air for the game-winning score in a 31-28 victory in Orland Park. Trailing 28-24, Sandburg caught the Knights biting on a play-action fake as Anthony Adams (10-of-14 passing, 106 yards) found Nick Lehnerer (7 catches, 85 yards) wide open for a 33-yard touchdown with 1 minute, 52 seconds left.
