Bolingbrook Car Crash Shuts Down Boughton Road

Preliminary reports to the Bolingbrook crash suggested someone may have been pinned in one of the cars.

Boughton Road was shut down Tuesday night after a car accident at Boughton and Ashbury Avenue in Bolingbrook, according to reports.

Bolingbrook police tweeted "Boughton closed at Ashbury due to vehicle accident." at 6:30 p.m. Police then tweeted Boughton Road was re-opened at 7:11 p.m.

Northern Illinois FireGround Photos reported on its Facebook page that there was a multiple-ambulance response to a "pin-in accident," or an accident in which someone is pinned in the car.

Patch will post more information as it becomes available.

We were at the golf course at the time and we were told by a bystander a van struck a pedestrian crossing Boughton and later the waitress told us it was fatal :(

Thanks for letting me know, Amy. Nothing has been reported officially yet, and I'll update the story when I hear. How sad.
