Bolingbrook Chick-fil-A to Open Thursday
The 'First 100' people at the restaurant will receive 52 coupons for combination meals to be used at Chick-fil-A in the next year.
Bolingbrook's Chick-fil-A location is set to open Thursday, but you'll see people lining up early Wednesday for a shot at free food for a year.
The restaurant chain's newest location will open in a new building at 245 N. Weber Rd., in front of the Meijer at the intersection of Weber and Boughton Road.
As part of the restaurant chain's "First 100" program, the first 100 patrons who line up starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday will receive gift certificates good for 52 combination meals. The coupons can be used at any Chick-fil-A restaurant within the next year.
If more than 100 people arrive, the "First 100" will be chosen by lottery.
If you win, you receive a ticket to camp out in the Chick-fil-A parking lot for 24 hours and enjoy free meals, snacks and entertainment provided by the restaurant chain. Those with tickets are permitted to have up to five guests.
Then, on Thursday, campers will awake early and line up, single file, behind Chick-fil-A's mascots, the cows. The cows will lead the First 100, age 18 and older, into the restaurant at 6 a.m. where each will receive gift certificates good for 52 combination meals.
The value of the coupons exceeds $350, said Tiffany Greenway, a spokesperson from Chick-fil-A's corporate office in Atlanta, Ga., who was at the Crystal Lake opening in Crystal Lake Aug. 9.
"We're giving away $26,000 worth of food," Greenway said.
About 200 people were waiting by 6 a.m. the day before the Crystal Lake opening, according to Algonquin Patch. Those who camped out included folks from Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin and the Chicago area.
All 200 were invited to throw their names into a lottery drawing, from which 100 were picked to participate in the grand opening. Counting the ticket holders' guests, there were 178 people camped in the Crystal Lake restaurant parking lot.
In light of recent remarks the fast food chain's president made against same sex marriage, a protest was planned outside the new Oswego location, which opened Aug. 24.
There has been no word yet on protests planned outside the Bolingbrook location.

Never, ever will I support this business.

You can choose not to support this business with the same freedom that Chick fil A has to believe in certain marriages. It's a losing battle. We are all entitled to believe in what we want to. There is no law that I am familiar with which states that all Americans must support a specific type of marital union.

I'm looking forward to having a Chick-fil-a in town. Won't have to drive far now to get a great chicken sandwich at a family friendly restaurant. Welcome to Bolingbrook!

Jeremy, apparently you don't drive a car either. Most gas people buy come from Arab States that don't believe in homosexuality either.

Just what our overfat society needs...free junk food. These people will wake up at 5:30 in the morning for grease, but not to go to work. Pathetic

I agree. Then again, I rarely eat out so I am not in that group. I'll occasionally eat out if I absolutely need to or if get that once in a while urge for something. To sit out or camp out though is a bit over the top. I guess some people hear the word "free" and they go crazy. It's a few less meals they actually have to cook themselves.

I see no problem with people camping out for a free sandwhich. Some here complain it's stupid , but they will be the first ones to camp out to get concert tickets or for black Friday sales.

A few occasions my wife has camped out , once it was for the launch of super absorbent MaxiPads and the other time it was for a case of Depends that she gave me for Christmas.

Look, we've already lost our morals as a nation, so any business like Chic-fil-a should be more than welcome & needed! I pity the fools that can't accept that.

100 hundred free Chic-fil-a's is much better than 100 same sex marriages or abortions.

I drove by Chick-fil-A this morning and there are already a lot of tents set up and people camping out. Got to thinking that those Occupy Protesters could use this to their benefit. They can camp out without being asked to leave, get free publicity, possibly free food, and still protest "big business." Ahhh, Sweet!

I hope Chick-Fil-A is hosting a 24 hour job fair in the parking lot too. Obviously the hundreds of people that will be camping out there tonight don't have jobs. I bet the Bolingbrook and Will County jails will be pretty busy tonight. That sounds like a scary group of people to hang out with, let alone sleep with. Not bashing Chick-Fil-A. I love them. Just saying, it's rather probable that there will be alot of low lifes and criminals hanging around, as if the attention seeking homos weren't enough..

Not sure where anyone got the idea that the people attending this free give-a-way are losers. I know a couple of people who have full time jobs, that did this just for the fun of it. Lighten up people. If others consider this fun, let them have their fun.

http://youtu.be/SD7Eq2eb1IA What's the difference between KFC and Chick Fil-A? Liam works it out semi-musically: No difference! That's right, they all use the same barfy factory-farmed mutilated, tortured and abused animals - who have problems of their own - and may themselves be gay! Who knows what you're eating??
