Bolingbrook Linebacker Verbally Commits to Florida

BHS senior Antonio Morrison expects to make commitment official Friday.

Antonio Morrison took a giant step in deciding his future football career by verbally committing to play for the University of Florida on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3-inch, 220-pound senior linebacker for the Bolingbrook High School football team is expected to make the commitment official on Friday, according to the Twitter account of Chris Pool, a Midwest recruiting analyst for Rivals.com and Scout.com

The Bolingbrook Raider Football Facebook page said, "congratulations to the #1 linebacker in Illinois Antonio Morrison for verbally committing to the Florida Gators!!!!"

Morrison had been fielding offers all summer from some of college football's biggest programs, such as Alabama, Oregon, Michigan, Illinois and San Diego State among others.

The BHS senior-to-be was selected to participate in the  last month—the all-star game will take place in Phoneix on Jan. 3 and be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.

Morrison helped the Raiders to a 5-4 regular-season record last season and was one of five Midwestern players to commit to the game.
