Dispatcher Error Activated Bolingbrook Tornado Siren Early Wednesday

A dispatcher hit the wrong switch, causing the siren to go off around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday morning.

 

Some Bolingbrook residents woke early Wednesday to the sound of a tornado siren. 

Several Bolingbrook Patch readers reported waking up at 4:45 a.m. to the siren. Bolingbrook police said one of its dispatchers hit the wrong switch, activating the alarm.

I didn't hear it but I did wake up around then so I must have heard it in my sleep. Way to go dispatcher!!!

I heard it, but I will not complain. Instead, I choose to be glad that it wasn't a real tornado. But Dispatcher, if you do it again, you'll have to serve us breakfast or something. ;-)

Believe me, that particular dispatcher and their co-workers are paying for the activation as BPD has a history of ONLY disciplining their employees rather than encouraging them.
