Boys Basketball: Joliet West Spoils Bolingbrook's Senior Night

Joliet West 56, Bolingbrook 50. The Tigers dodged a late spurt by the Raiders by making four of five free throw attempts in the game's final minute.

The Hot Read: A lineup shake-up provided the Bolingbrook Raiders with a bit of a spark. The home team started freshman Jerius Geralds along with seniors LaTree Russell, Andre Gunn, Kevin Mitchem and Dan Fisher and the lineup proved to have its advantages at times. Bolingbrook had leads at the end of the first quarter and heading into halftime, but Joliet West used a 10-0 run in the middle of the third quarter to move past the competition and did just enough to hold off the Raiders in a 56-50 win.

Bolingbrook had its chances late, cutting its deficit to two points with 1:18 to go in regulation. But Joliet West hit four of five attempted free throws in the final minute to escape with a six-point victory.

Patch’s MVP: The Tigers' senior leader Remy Roberts-Burnett scored a game-high 15 points and went 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
