DuPage Township held its seventh annual “Tools for School” on Aug. 17, serving 1,232 students.

The program is designed for under-resourced youth of DuPage Township.

Students received a backpack full of school supplies and a fun-filled day of food, entertainment, health screenings, haircuts, and dental exams, all at no cost.

The day came together through the efforts of neighboring business such as Paul Mitchell-the School of Chicago, Bolingbrook Adventist Hospital, Will County Dental Van, Allegra Print and Imaging, Grove Dental, Heritage Woods and the Village of Bolingbrook.

8 years ago ..I assume kids were going to school ..without a backpack, no school supplies, no haircut, no health screenings and no dental screenings. Wouldn't it be nice if the township showed people how to take care of their own kids? This is another government program with a life of it's own. As Reagan said..the closest thing to eternal life on earth is a government program. All these things provided free!!! I wonder how much was provided by the tax payers. Maybe next year the township can tell us how many people got off this program!
