Family Dog Killed in Bolingbrook Fire Tuesday Night
Bolingbrook fire crews responded to a house fire on the 300 block of Sword Way Tuesday night.

A dog died from smoke inhalation following a fire that broke out in a Bolingbrook home Tuesday night, according to fire officials.
A neighbor reported the fire at 9:33 p.m., according to Bolingbrook Fire Marshall Jeff LaJoie. Crews saw heavy smoke and fire showing from the back of the home.
The residents were not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. However, their dog died from smoke inhalation.
Damage to the home was estimated to be at $100,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross assisted the family with finding shelter and other necessities.

How would we find out if there were kids that lived there and maybe need clothes or something? My kids have not cleaned the closets out in a while if clothes that don't fit them anymore in a while!! If I could help, I would like to.

The family is a part if Westbrook church on lily cache rd. they are accepting all donations for them there. Clothes for 3 boys and 1 girl. The boys are 8mo, 3, and 4. The girl is 9. They also need size 3 diapers. Thank you!

HUGE kudos to the Police - who were on Sword within minutes AND the Fire Dept who came out in full force and did an AWESOME job. Although we're sad for our neighbor's loss we are very grateful for such great men and women who help us.

Thank you guys for your support. My family and I greatly appreciate it. We are trying our best to cope. The loss of my dog was extremely hard to bare, but I'm glad we are all safe.
