Football: Raiders Fall in Rankings After Loss to Sandburg
Bolingbrook High School fell in the Chicago Tribune rankings after its overtime loss to Carl Sandburg High School Friday.
The Bolingbrook Raiders football team, which was ranked #1 early in the season, has fallen to #9 in the Chicago Tribune rankings following consecutive two losses -- the first to Lincoln-Way East and the second to Carl Sandburg.
The team was ranked seventh in the Trib rankings last week, following the injury of quarterback Aaron Bailey and the team's loss to Lincoln-Way East.
Bolingbrook High School's Raider football team kept it close with Carl Sandburg in Friday's game.
The teams were 6-6 by the end of regulation. Sandburg scored on the very first play of overtime on a play-action pass and then scooped up a Raiders' fumble on Bolingbrook's first play from scrimmage in overtime to ice the game.

The win pushes Sandburg to 6-1 on the year, and 4-1 in South Suburban Blue Conference play. The loss drops Bolingbrook to 5-2 overall, and 3-2 in the South Suburban Conference Blue.
The Sandburg Eagles next host Lockport on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7:15 p.m. The Bolingbrook Raiders host Lincoln-Way Central on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
