John Carbonaro, 35, of the 3S600 block of Melcher Avenue in Warrenville, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual abuse, a Class 4 felony, in front of Judge Blanche Hill Fawell this morning before his trial was about to begin, according to a release. He faces a sentencing hearing on Feb. 19.

“As a trusted member of the high school’s staff, Mr. Carbonaro used his position to sexually abuse his young victim,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a release. “He cared nothing for his victim and betrayed the trust placed in him by the victim, the school and the victim’s parents."

Carbonaro allegedly began a sexual relationship with the female Naperville North student in the summer of 2010, sexually abusing the student in his home, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney.

In Feburary of 2011, Carbonaro turned himself in after police said a concerned parent called the school and told the principal about an inappropriate relationship he had with a teenage student, Patch reported in 2011.

At that time, Naperville School District 203 administrators immediately contacted authorities to begin an investigation. Carbonaro—a counselor and the school's junior varsity girls' golf coach— was suspended and "removed from all duties and responsibilities within the district," according to an e-mailed statement from Naperville Community Unit School District 203 in 2011.

Carbonaro was hired as a full-time employee at the district in 2006. At that time, he successfully passed the required background checks conducted on all District 203 employees, district officials have said.

Carbonaro was also a part-time summer camp coach and range officer for the Naperville Park District for 5 years before he was suspended without pay.

The point I'm making is that a 13 year girl without her parents permission or knowledge can get an abortion! So if a 13 year old can consent and make an adult decession to get an abortion , a 16 year old should be allowed to consent to a sexual relationship with a man regardless of age and job!

You already made your point on how you feel about bolingbrook, I was just saying Naperville is not perfect as you say it is. You have crossed the line speaking of teen girls like this! Obviously you do not have daughters!! You are disgusting!

Please explain then how a sluty 13 year old can get an abortion with no questions asked, but a 16 year old can't consent to sex. So why does the law say its okay for a 13 year old to do one thing , but a 16 year old can't do another. I think the whole world ,President and all of them are immoral politicians too let a 13 year get an abortion. Teaching our young ones the right way is to get an abortion isn't it?

Abortion, same sex marriage ,sodomy, adultery were all illegal at one time too and now they are legal. So I think it's trine the consent age of 16 years old should be legal. Let me guess it's vile, immoral and against the law? Like abortion, same sex marriage and others shouldn't be? Double standards!

If my teen age daughter came home pregnant and consented to sex, I would give her parental discipline and she would keep the child . No questions asked.

Still no one can explain how the government and State allows a 13 year old to get an abortion, but wil not let a 16 year old to consent to sex with an adult. Convoluted isn't it. The government is sanctioning child abuse by letting 13 years olds to lget an abortio without a parents knowledge or permission.

DoO, don't I know you? You used to teach at my high school in the 1970s and 1980s. Biology teacher. The kids called you "puddinhead" behind your back. You moved on to a higher paid suburban high school teaching job...Athletic Director or something like that. You moved your family to Naperville but taught up north or west. You had to stop teaching when you were around 50 because of...you know. Similar story to the guy you're defending now.

You can try to distract me with insults if you want, but your story is falling into place, Mr L. I've been reading your comments for a long time. Your "retirement" in your 40's wasn't really a retirement, it was a banishment from teaching. That explains why you're on here all day everyday. A real retiree would have enough money to travel or go places during the day. A worker has to work. You do neither. You defend a teacher who had sex with a 16 year old because you think she consented? Mr L was convicted of being with a 17 year old and is probably a little bitter about the so called "consent", especially since she's about 28 now. The phony catholic drivel. You fit this guy to a tee. I remember you. High and mighty, then a shameful fall.
