Friday Food Critic: Salad Creations

Each week we nominate a new restaurant for you to review. That's right, you're the local expert.

When it comes to restaurants, Bolingbrook has it covered.

We have some great local places that many would consider community gems; we have some restaurants that aren't exactly mom-and-pop but are unique to the area; and we certainly—for better or for worse—have plenty of chains lining our main streets.

But what we don't have is a consistent food critic to tell us what's good and what's not.

That's where you come in.

We're not egotistical enough to tell you what restaurants you do and don't like. It's your community. You eat the food. You tell us if it passes the mark.

That's why we run The Friday Food Critic, where each week, we put a different restaurant on the chopping block. You tell us how you feel about it, what dishes are good, who has the best drink specials and so forth.

This week, we review Salad Creations. Located in the Promenade shopping center, the eatery specializes in...you guessed it...salads. You can also find delicious alternatives such as wraps, paninis and soups.

To review Salad Creations, simply click on their name (or THIS LINK). You'll be directed toward their community listing in our business directory, where you can rate them on a five-star system and write a personal review.

At Bolingbrook Patch, we believe your words of wisdom are better than any food critic.

So what are you waiting for? Let the reviewing begin!

About this column: If there's one thing Bolingbrook's not short on, it's places to find some grub. Each week, we'll open up the book on one of Bolingbrook's dozens of restaurants so you, the reader, can tell us what it's really like.

I love salads and Salad Creations!!!!

The secret to a Great Salad is colors and textures, the more the merrier. There is a huge selection of STUFF to put on your salad and the portions are large.

Also locally owned.

I've been to Salad Creations many times; I especially like going there in the summer and eating outside while watching the children and families having fun in the mini-water park. To me the salads are what salads should be, a true mixture of tastes, textures, and colors. My favorite type of salad is one which I refer to as "Garbage Salad"; that is to say a basic lettuce salad with all sorts of other garbage thrown in - tomatoes, oinions, cucumbers, radishes, peas, peppers, brocolli, cauliflower, etc. Chopped up and mixed well so as to get a taste of everything with each bite.
Great place; if you haven't been, go there and create you're own "Salad Creation".
