According to witnesses, Jordan was playing, jumping in and out of the pond, when she slipped under the water and did not come back up.

Detectives have been able to determine a group of approximately six boys and girls planned to go "bridge jumping" at this location, said Lt. Michael Rompa.

Each person in the group participated by entering the bridge on the outside of the handrail and would then jump into the water.

"Jordan completed the jump from the bridge into the water on her first attempt and was able to return to the shore," Rompa said. "On her second attempt, she came back up from the water above the surface after the jump, but then descended into the water and did not resurface."

Jordan is survived by her mother and father, Denise (Hylton) and Jamal Oliver of Bolingbrook; two sisters Jasmine and Jacquelyn Oliver; and one brother, Devin Oliver; grandparents The Honorable Eugene Oliver Jr. and Hope, and Denzil and Olva Monica Hylton; and great grandmother Ethelyn Oliver.
