Girls Basketball: Bolingbrook Could Meet Romeoville in Oswego Sectional

A Valley View School District 365U rivalry could occur during the semi-final of the Oswego sectional.

As they pursue the Illinois High School Association’s Class 4A girls basketball state championship, Romeoville and Bolingbrook high schools could run into each other in the Oswego sectional semifinal at 6 p.m. Feb. 19.

The Lady Raiders are seeded first in the sectional and will open their quest for another state title at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 in Yorkville against either Plainfield North or Joliet West. The Yorkville regional championship game is Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

The Lady Spartans are seeded fourth in the sectional and will open play as the favorites at Lemont in a 6 p.m. Feb. 13 contest against either Lemont or Plainfield South. If seeds hold true, RHS faces a re-match against a tough Plainfield East team at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 for the Lemont Regional title.

The winner of the Feb. 19 sectional semifinal will play in the sectional final at Oswego at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21, likely against either Neuqua Valley or Naperville Central. Oswego’s winner then moves on to the Hinsdale Central Supersectional at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25, where top ranked Young could be waiting.
