As they pursue the Illinois High School Association’s Class 4A girls basketball state championship, Romeoville and Bolingbrook high schools could run into each other in the Oswego sectional semifinal at 6 p.m. Feb. 19.
The Lady Raiders are seeded first in the sectional and will open their quest for another state title at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 in Yorkville against either Plainfield North or Joliet West. The Yorkville regional championship game is Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Spartans are seeded fourth in the sectional and will open play as the favorites at Lemont in a 6 p.m. Feb. 13 contest against either Lemont or Plainfield South. If seeds hold true, RHS faces a re-match against a tough Plainfield East team at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 for the Lemont Regional title.
The winner of the Feb. 19 sectional semifinal will play in the sectional final at Oswego at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21, likely against either Neuqua Valley or Naperville Central. Oswego’s winner then moves on to the Hinsdale Central Supersectional at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25, where top ranked Young could be waiting.
