Osaka Grill and Supreme Buffet Celebrates Grand Opening
Restaurant located in the County Aire Plaza shopping center.
You'd never know by looking at it's exterior, but Osaka Grill and Supreme Buffet is big.
It's real big. And it's fit to serve real big appetites.
The buffet-style restaurant, which opened June 2 and is located at 121 S. Weber Rd. inside the Country Aire shopping center, shares a storefront with the Goodwill Store and offers little more than a few window panels for an entrance.
But walk in and small will be the last word that comes to mind—whether referring to the 12,000-square-foot restaurant itself or the sushi rolls it serves.
Osaka Grill specializes in Japanese, Chinese, American and multicultural cuisine, and according to its website, showcases a Hibachi Style Grill where customers can select their own meats and vegetables and have it cooked by a professional Hibachi chef while watching their meal be prepared right in front of them.
Prices for adults range from $6.99 for a lunch buffet to $9.99 for a dinner buffet. Kids prices run a few dollars cheaper.
The restaurant celebrated its grand opening Thursday as members of the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce and village officials gathered to break in the joint.
Curt Wong, the restaurant's owner and Bolingbrook resident, said the venue has been well received thus far and expects business to spike once the restaurant starts to advertise.
Mayor Roger Claar, who was on hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon, said he was impressed Osaka's selection, including Claar's favorite—mac and cheese.
"It's amazing the amount of food they have in here," he said. "I don't know where you can get a better deal."
And it's ready to satisfy the biggest of appetites.

We tried it this week and the food was pretty good for the price. Of course, it's not gourmet.
There was plenty of selection and everything we had was fresh. If the choice is fast food or Osaka Grill, I'd go with the latter.

Osaka Grill is really a big place! Wouldn't know it from the entry way. Food is plentiful & fresh. Enough variety for even the little ones. Enjoyed the sushi, too. Only suggestion is that they should have more food signs, since there is such a variety to choose from & folks may not know what some of the selections are. Prices are very reasonable.

After we sat down at Osaka my girlfriend and I noticed the glasses were dingy and dirty as well as the silverware. This we dealt with and moved on to the important part...food!
That was disappointment number two. For almost $12 I honestly expected decent food since you can go someplace decent like O'Charlies and get a steak for that anymore. The sushi was dry and tough. Pretty much all the dishes were LOADED with MSG and half of them seemed like they had been sitting there for hours under the heat light. Not a single redeeming quality in the food.
The servers were nice, but there was a creepy old lady that was very rude...don't know what her deal is.
Last bad part was when we got home...thank GOD we have two bathrooms at our house! That crappy food had both our stomachs in a fit for the rest of the day.
NEVER GOING BACK! This place should be shut down, seriously.
