Police Blotter: 13-Year-Old Charged With Retail Theft

Sunday, June 26
Aggravated battery
Derek Smith, 31, of the 1000 block of North Trumball Avenue in Chicago, was charged with aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer on the 100 block of Springleaf Drive, police said.
Three charged in fight
Peter Scale, 24, of the 700 block of 61st Street in Downers Grove, Nathan Campo, 24, of the 300 block of Elwood Street in Westmont, and Eric Smith, 25, of the 5800 block of South Bishop Avenue in Chicago, were each charged with disorderly conduct and battery following a call to a business on the 500 block of Janes Avenue for the report of a fight, police said.
Domestic battery
Shangel Rice, 20, of the 400 block of Camden Avenue in Romeoville, was charged with domestic battery on the 400 block of Devonshire Drive, police said.
Purse snatched from car
Police were called to the 200 block of Weber Road for the report of a theft. A purse was taken from a car, police said.
Cash registers damaged to business
A window was broken and several cash registers were damaged to a business on the 700 block of North Janes Avenue, police said.
Thieves lean into open car window and take purse
Police said several unknown male subjects were walking along the 300 block of Woodcrest Drive and one leaned into an open vehicle and took a purse.
Fight
Erick Singfield, 42, of the 300 block of Whitewater Drive, was charged with battery after punching the victim in the face after a verbal argument on the 1200 block of Remington Boulevard, police said.
Thieves ask for help, steals wallet
Police were called to the 400 block of Salem Square for the report of a battery. The victim told police that unknown subjects asked for assistance in the parking let, then proceeded to punch and kick the victim several times before taking a wallet at 3:45 a.m. The victim was transported and at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.

Woman leaves the scene of an accident
Esmeralda Brito, 37, of the 800 block of Tamms Lane, was charged with an in-state warrant, improper lane usage, leaving the scene of an accident, no valid driver’s license and no insurance on the 500 block of Remington Boulevard, police said.
Seat belt violation turns into minor in possession of alcohol
Jacob Adejala, 19, of the 300 block of Harmony Court, was charged with a seat belt violation and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor following a traffic stop on the 100 block of Wedgewood Way, police said.
Resisting a peace officer
Isaac Alexander, 21, of the 200 block of Roman Circle, was charged with driving on suspended driver’s license, resisting a peace officer and a motor vehicle violation following a traffic stop on the 100 block of Wedgewood Way, police said.
Motor vehicle theft
Sokha Yauk, 29, of the 300 block of Huntington Way, was charged with motor vehicle theft and driving on a suspended license, police said.
Stolen liquor
Police were called to the Meijer at 755 E. Boughton Rd. for the report of a retail theft. Four unknown subjects took $1,393 worth of liquor and ran from the store, police said.
13-year old charged with retail theft
A 13-year-old juvenile was charged with retail theft at the Meijer at 225 N. Weber Rd., police said.
Woman arrested after kicking and punching
Amelia Shell, 21, of the 300 block of Plainfield Drive, was charged with battery after police said she kicked and punched a victim on the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive.
