Police: Bolingbrook Man Grew Marijuana at His House, Had Amphetamine in His Car

An anonymous call to police reported that 23-year-old Daniel Martinez was passing pieces of tin foil from his car to another. Police said that tin foil contained amphetamine.

A Bolingbrook man was arrested Friday after Bolingbrook police said they found amphetamine in his car and marijuana plants at his home.

Daniel Martinez, 23, of 417 Greentree Lane in Bolingbrook, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis plants, failure to signal lane change, improper use of registration, suspended license and no insurance. Martinez was processed and transported to Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Police said they found seven pieces of tin foil containing a white powdery
substance in Martinez's Cadillac. The approximate weight came to 2.13 grams and tested positive for amphetamine. Amphetamine is a stimulant which can produce increased energy and alertness and euphoria.

Police also found four marijuana plants in Martinez's house, as well as materials for growing marijuana and a scale for packaging drugs.

Police said that at 9:52 a.m. Friday, officers responded to Route 53 and Beaconridge Drive in reference to a "possible delivery of a controlled substance."

The anonymous caller told police he or she had observed a man in a red Cadillac passing pieces of tin foil to a person in another car. Police were also told the car had just left the parking lot northbound from the parking lot and proceeded south on Route 53.

A patrol officer saw a car matching the caller's description commit a moving violation. The car was stopped within a parking lot of the Beaconridge area.

Martinez was found to be driving the Cadillac with a suspended license and possessed a valid Will County warrant. He was taken into custody. A seizure hold was placed on the red Cadillac.

Police then discovered the amphetamine in the car and the marijuana plants and materials at Martinez's house.

Isn't it even a bit funny that his address is on GREENTREE Lane?

Hmmmmm! Seems I just left a comment last week about the "parking lot" exchanges going on in LOT K ( Greentree & Jamestown) & I was told that it was only guys " drinking like camels" & no drugs were involved. I've seen the drug exchanges many times and this guy is not the only one doing it.

When Teens are hanging out in a parking or a park and it's raining out hard... I believe the police should stop and question them. I see this crap happening all over Bolingbrook.. It's not just the East side with a huge problem.. The west side of Weber has Drug deals as well. Heck is probably easier for them to get away with it!

How did they search his house? There is no mention of a warrent, and it only says they stopped him for a moving violation. Seems to me, unless there is a warrent, the pot plants where seized illegally.
