Police Release Sketch of Man who Allegedly Tried to Abduct Bolingbrook Students

Bolingbrook police said Thursday's attempted child abduction may be related to another attempted abduction reported Tuesday.

 

Bolingbrook police have released the sketch of a man they believe tried to abduct two Bolingbrook High School students while they were walking home this week.

On Tuesday, police reported a man tried to pull a Bolingbrook student into his car. Then on Thursday, a second teenage girl reported fighting off a man who followed her home and grabbed her from behind, according to police. 

Bolingbrook police have said Thursday's incident may be related to the attempted abduction on Tuesday. Both incidents remain under investigation, police said.

Valley View posted this alert to parents on its website

“Please remind your children to not talk to strangers when they are walking to and from school. If a stranger does approach your children, they should not talk to him or go with him. Tell your children to report any suspicious adults to you, their teacher, or the office.”

Thursday's attempted abduction

    A 16-year-old girl said she was followed home from Bolingbrook High School into her apartment building in the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive. A man then grabbed her from behind as she entered the second floor of the building. The victim fought off her attacker and he fled west on foot toward neighboring Plimmer Park. 

    The offender was described as a stocky, black man about 5'5" tall, wearing a red jacket. The incident was reported at 2:11 p.m. 

    Tuesday's attempted abduction

    A Bolingbrook High School student was walking home when a man attempted to grab her and pull her into his car. A bystander saw the struggle and yelled at the man, who then fled the area in his car. 

    That offender was described as a black man wearing a tight shirt with short hair and a muscular build. The incident was reported at 3:20 p.m., according to WGN

    The incident took place near Radcliff Drive and Old Stone Road. 

    The subject is driving a blue, late 1990's Ford Explorer.

    Does not fit the same description as kareem I think they have the wrong guy in cusody I don't think the victim are sure who the guy is an they are very hysterical n on shock n ready to blame anyone to take they minds out of fear.

    Story doesn't add none of the victims haven't sad once that they seen this guy face anybody can a truck n be short n stalky u jus can't find sumbody who fit the profile n force it on them what is this world coming to?
