Police Shut Down Bolingbrook Halloween Display
Police responded to a Bolingbrook home on Halloween night following complaints of loud noise and traffic safety issues.
Hundreds of people flocked to Mike Semerau's Bolingbrook home on Halloween night.
Semerau, dressed in a zombie costume, played on a drum set for an hour outside amidst Halloween inflatables and other decorations. Throngs of trick-or-treaters choked traffic for more than an hour along Plainview Drive and Lily Cache Lane. The crowded, noisy situation drew the ire of one anonymous 911 caller.
Bolingbrook police responded to the home at 7:30 p.m. to ask that the music be stopped, according to the Bolingbrook Reporter. No tickets were issued.
At that point, Semerau had handed out 750 candy bars.
“Last year we attracted about 450 people with our outdoor display, this year we handed out 680 candy bars with me outdoors playing the drums along with our display,” Semerau told the Bolingbrook Reporter.
