FBI: Shorewood Cops Help Take Down Bolingbrook Pimp and Rapist
The Shorewood Police Department assisted in the federal investigation that ended with the arrest of a Bolingbrook man on a human trafficking charge.
The Shorewood Police Department lent a hand in a federal investigation that led the to the Tuesday morning arrest of a Bolingbrook man on a human trafficking charge.
McKenzie "Casino" Carson, 39, of 200 Campbell Drive—just a block away from Jamie McGee Middle School—was taken into custody at his home, according to a statement released by the FBI.
The FBI accused Carson of "actively recruiting young females, including minors under the age of 18, to work for him as prostitutes in and around the Chicago area since at least 2010."
"Carson advertised their services over the Internet and used cellular telephones to schedule and book 'dates' for the girls," according to the FBI statement. "Carson is believed to have employed others to assist him with running his prostitution operation, driving the girls to motels, hotels and other locations to meet with customers."
The FBI also alleged Carson used "violence and threats of violence, including sexual assault, to force the women and young girls to work for him."
"One of the victims, a then 17-year old female, was allegedly raped by Carson and forced to perform oral sex the first time they met," The FBI claimed in its statement. "Afterwards, Carson then sent the victim out that same night to engage in prostitution."
A second young woman accused Carson of repeatedly beating and raping her, including in one instance when she told him she no longer wanted to work as his prostitute, the FBI said.
That woman was 20 at the time of the alleged crimes.
Carson appeared in federal court Tuesday afternoon and was ordered to be held without bond at the Metropolitan Correction Center in Chicago pending his next court appearance.
Carson faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 if convicted of the trafficking charge.

I believe this guy was arrested in Bolingbrook, not Shorewood, luckily. The Shorewood Police Dept. assisted in the investigation.

But the photo shows an address of 2413. There's no 2413 Campbell and no Bolingbrook streets, that I know of, that have 4 digit addresses. Please clarify Patch.

I don't know about this picture but there are many streets in Bolingbrook with 4 digits. Briarcliff, Lily Cache, Ashbrook Circle, Marne, Danube, Red Bud, Fawn Ct, Maroon Bells, Yukon, Apple Valley, Canyon Ct., Antelope Ct for example.

Not speaking for the Patch, but I'd think the photo is a generic stock photo, just meant to illustrate the concept of a FBI bust. At first I did think that it was an actual image related to the story, but then noticed the address problem, the green geraniums on the porch and the un-Bolingbrook look of the house.

Silly me. It's a stock photo. New journalism only requires an image, any image. Maybe next time they can use a photo of a gunfight or sexy people. Maybe a droopy drawers gang member or shirtless hillbilly being hauled away.

Sure, if you want to submit a photo of yourself that would be great.

Why not submit a photo of myself? It would be just as irrelevant to the story.

good one Joe! But I have to ask how the hell did S.P.D. help when there was no mention of what they did, other then saying they assisted. Just curious about that.

OK Joe -- it saysat his home at 200 Campbell in the article--but the pic clearly has nothing to do with that address-- not very relevant to the story-- and don't be so touchy !! and I do agree that there is no mention of how Shorewood managed to become involved in the arrest of a Bolingbrook resident and a Bolingbrook residence

Why would Joe care about things being relevant. Starts with his work of fiction with Drew Peterson and continues with this "reporting". Appears he did no further investigation than doing a copy and paste of what I read in the Tribune the other day.

I guess I could have copied and pasted it, if it hadn't gone up later. But see, you'd have to be smart to know that. And have some guts to put your name on a post. But look who we're talking about.

Well since you are here now cutting edge reporter, how was Shorewood involved? Or are you too busy with your own self promotion of your Lifetime comedy movie?

I believe that some of the prostitution may have taken place in the Shorewood area.
