Frank Thomas, perhaps the best baseball player to ever put on a Chicago White Sox uniform, will make an appearance at the Bolingbrook Binny's on Dec. 8, according to the liquor store's website.
Thomas will be at the store from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. while he promotes his new Big Hurt Beer, which debuted in October is exlusively available in area Binny's stores.
The beer is described on its website as a crisp, full-flavored lager with all-star taste and a smooth finish.
Previously, Binny's has hosted such local celebrities as actor Dan Akroyd, former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka and former White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen. All three made appearances to promote their own brand of liquor or support some type of charity.
No word yet on if Thomas' appearance will benefit a charity.
Thomas finished his career with 521 home runs, 1,704 RBI and a .301 batting average. He played 16 seasons with the White Sox and won two American League Most Valuable Player awards in back-to-back seasons in 1993 and 1994.
Thomas retired after the 2008 season with the Oakland Athletics. He is widely believed to be voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame when he becomes eligible in 2014.

Frank will only be signing his beer, no baseball memorabilia! It'll be fun to see him. Looks like his beer is only $1.99 for a 24oz can. That's a better deal than Dan Akroyd's $40.00 vodka.
