UPDATE: Bolingbrook Man In Critical Condition After Motorcycle Accident

Motorcycle rider Daniel Donaldson, 31, was airlifted to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove following a crash late Friday night.

A 31-year-old motorcycle driver is still receiving care for serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash in North Aurora on Friday.

Daniel Donaldson of Bolingbrook was listed in critical condition at 9:45 p.m. Saturday at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Donaldson and the other driver in the crash, 61-year-old Jerry Butler of Justice, IL, were initially transported to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora following a crash at the I-88 entrance off of Route 31 in North Aurora.

Butler was not listed in the Provena hospital system Saturday afternoon, according to a hospital spokesperson. Butler at one point was still at Provena Mercy early Saturday in an unknown condition, according to a North Aurora Police Department press release issued at about 3:30 a.m. this morning.

Daniel Donaldson of Bolingbrook was listed in critical condition at 12:50 p.m. today (Saturday) atAdvocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Donaldson and the other driver in the crash, 61-year-old Jerry Butler of Justice, IL, were initially transported to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora following a crash at the I-88 entrance off of Route 31 in North Aurora.

Butler was not listed in the Provena hospital system Saturday afternoon, according to a hospital spokesperson. Butler at one point was still at Provena Mercy early Saturday in an unknown condition, according to a North Aurora Police Department press release issued at about 3:30 a.m. this morning.

North Aurora police officers responded to the crash at 11:45 p.m. Friday, according to a press release. Butler was driving northbound in a pickup truck on Route 31 and Donaldson was driving southbound on 31 on a motorcycle.

Butler was turning left onto the I-88 entrance ramp when Donaldson struck the passenger side of the truck, according to early investigation findings.

The Route 31 and I-88 ramp intersection was closed for about 3.5 hours following the crash. The area became fully open to traffic at about 3:30 a.m. this morning, according to an advisory messageissued by the North Aurora Police Department.

Butler was charged with a traffic violation—failure to yield while turning left, according to the press release.

This poor guy wouldn't be in the hospital if it wasn't because of a stupid,ignorant careless driver turning in front of him!

i agree tom. its makes me sick to my stomach. this isnt fair to him or any of his family. that man should be arrested and put in jail. justice needs to be served. i hope dan pulls though. thoughts and prayers are with him. <3
