Over the years, we have had many talented, insightful speakers at St. Francis Parish, including our Bishops. Now we will be graced with another great "teacher of the Faith" - Fr. Felipe Legarreta-Castillo Ph.D.
Why will his talk be re"MARK"able? Well, Fr. Felipe will present an account of the Gospel we are currently hearing proclaimed at Mass this year - the Gospel of St. Mark. Did you know that this Gospel was the earliest written of the three "synoptic gospels?"
Want to learn more about this Gospel's impact in the early Christian community and what it means for us today?
Then come join us:
WHERE: St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 1501 W. Boughton Rd., Bolingbrook
WHEN: 7:30 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, May 22
COST: None (however, a free will offering will be taken)
PREP: To get the most out of the discussion, please read the Gospel of St. Mark in advance. It is the shortest Gospel at 16 chapters. Then, bring your Bible that evening.
Let us continue to learn and share our faith together! Remember: knowledge is power at its best - inspiring us to be active, fruitful Christians in our world today.
