Stop Smoking: The Great American Smokeout!

Nov. 17 is the Great American Smokeout!

This day encourages smokers to take an important step towards a healthier life by planning to quit by that date.

According to the American Cancer Society, tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the U.S., yet more than 46 million Americans still smoke.

However, more than half of these smokers have attempted to quit for at least one day in the past year.

Secondhand smoke is just as deadly. Non-smokers who breath in secondhand smoke also take in nicotine and other toxic chemicals just like smokers do.

What can you do? Commit to quitting. Quit for someone you love or help someone to quit!
