Bolingbrook Bites: 1 Way to Beat This Oppressive Heat

Looking for a way to beat this oppressive heat?

How about giving in to one of life’s guilty pleasures, frozen custard?

Andy’s Frozen Custard, located at 260 S. Weber Road, Bolingbrook’s rates 4.5 stars on Yelp. Don’t take my word, though. Here is a sample of how some others rate Andy’s, courtesy of Yelp.com:

Lonnie S., Bolingbrook: I haven't found anything here that I don't like.  The custard is so smooth and the ingredients are super fresh tasting, not like they've been sitting out all day.  It's a great treat even if my waist line hates me later.

Andie C., Charleston, S.C.: I had the strawberry banana concrete and it was awesome! I do think I prefer the banana and pecan, however. The only downside is that I wish they made a smaller size. Their small is like a DQ medium. I can never finish it all and feel really guilty throwing 1/3 of it away.

Elizabeth G., Joliet: After a late lunch across the street, frozen custard was a must. This would be my first visit to Andy's and I was fairly excited.  Walking up, I noticed a poster in the window advertising a chocolate covered strawberry sundae. "Limited time" "Bolingbrook location only" Limited time?!?! I'm not even looking at the menu. I want what isn't going to be here next time!

I ask the counter boy for the chocolate covered strawberry sundae. He gives a look of confusion. I told him it was on the poster in the window. He yells out "do any of you guys know about that poster?" This confusion went on for a few minutes. I laughed inside so he wouldn't feel inept. This sundae was phenomenal! It was almost like magic shell chocolate on it but more milk chocolatey. The strawberries were fresh. The ice cream cold and creamy. I couldn't finish my sundae. It was half melted by the time I was done. I might consider sharing next time.
