Bolingbrook in Wind Chill Advisory Area

The winter that won't quit is kicking up some more blustery northwest winds.

Holy polar vortex, Batman.

The National Weather Service Chicago has issued a wind chill advisory for much of northern Illinois, including Bolingbrook and all of Will County, that goes into effect at 9 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 22) and runs through 10 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 23).

Snow—with a total accumulation of less than 1 inch—is expected to wrap up by 3 p.m. Wednesday as the temperature reaches a high of 15. Wind chill values will dip as low as minus-9. And that’s literally just the tip of the iceberg.

The National Weather Service says winds could gust as high as 35 mph, causing patchy blowing snow. The temperature is expected to drop to about minus-1 on Wednesday night. And wind chill readings likely will go as low as minus-22.

Thursday’s forecast calls for skies to be partly sunny. Temperatures will remain frigid, the high expected to be near 7, according to the National Weather Service Chicago. A blustery northwest wind will produce wind chill readings of minus-23.
