Local Happenings: Three Things for Your Thursday

If Wednesday is called "hump day," what does that make Thursday?

Some call it "Nap Day." Others refer to it as "The Day Before Friday." Still others offer a string of less politically correct answers on Yahoo.com.

Anyway, here are some local happenings/items intended to brighten your Thursday:

1. Free Open House at Bridges to a New Day: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bridges to a New Day Counseling Agency, 215 W. Romeo Road, Romeoville. Free food will be served to all attendees. Bridges to a New Day serves residents of northern Will County and provides free domestic violence counseling.

2. Farmer’s Market at The Promenade: 4 p.m. at The Promenade Bolingbrook, 631 E. Boughton Road, Bolingbrook. The farmer’s market features locally grown produce—fresh fruit and vegetables—and is open every Thursday through Oct. 3.

3. Free Weight Loss Workshop & Smoothie: 6 p.m. at Nuvibe, 1105 S. Farrell Road, Lockport. The public is invited to hear a doctor from the Foundation of Wellness Professionals speak and will learn 5 Secrets to Weight Loss. Also, complimentary smoothies will be served to all attendees.
