Three for Thursday: Are You Going to Get a Jumpstart on the Weekend?
Purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, sample German-themed food and rev up your engine for the start of a big motorsports weekend at Chicagoland Speedway.
1. Farmer's Market at The Promenade Bolingbrook: The weekly event—open from 4-8 p.m.—runs every Thursday until Oct. 3 at The Promenade Bolingbrook, 631 E. Boughton Road.
2. Oktoberfest: The Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Gordon Biersch, The Promenade Bolingbrook and the Village of Bolingbrook's Arts Council to put on an event that runs begins at 5 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 12) at The Promenade Bolingbrook. There will be German-themed food, German-inspired beer, live entertainment and a Kids Area with face painting and clowns.
3. Joliet Race Fan Rally: This is the kickoff event for NASCAR's Chase Weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. It runs from 4-10 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 12) in downtown Joliet—events on Chicago Street from Webster to Jefferson. There will be a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Haulers Parade in addition to driver appearances and entertainment (live music, food vendors and a KidZone Area).
