Ah, wake up and smell that wonderful kitchen aroma.
Think breakfast. Think pancakes, sausages and a choice of drink.
And it’s all free for Veterans when two Valley View School District 365U elementary schools hold their annual Veterans Day breakfasts in November.
Beverly Skoff Elementary School will hold its event from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, in the school cafeteria, 775 Normantown Road, Romeoville, according to a Valley View School District news release. Tickets are $3 if pre-ordered or $4 at the door.
And, one week later, Oak View Elementary School, 150 N. Schmidt, Bolingbrook, will hold its Veterans Day breakfast. The event runs from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9. Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for children ages 5-11.
As part of the festivities at Oak View, the school chorus will begin singing at 9:30 a.m. and a slide show presentation will feature photos of family or friends of students who are now—or have been—in the service.
