Arctic. Icy. Polar.

What’s the one word you use to describe our most recent weather conditions?

How about these: Mean? Brutal?

The National Weather Service Chicago says wind chill values could go as low as minus-26 on Thursday night (Jan. 23). And the forecast for the weekend and the start of the new week doesn’t offer much hope for a respite, either.

Patchy blowing snow is expected to arrive on Friday and Friday night (Jan. 24) with new accumulation totals of 1-3 inches possible in Bolingbrook. There is a 50-60 percent chance of more snow on Saturday and Sunday.

The overnight low on Sunday (Jan. 26) is expected to fall to minus-3. That’s not calculating for any wind chill. And the daytime high on Monday is predicted to be 1.

Ouch! Does that work?
