Job Opening: Director of Children & Family Ministries

General description:

Friendship United Methodist Church is located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago in Bolingbrook, IL directly off major highways of I-355 S and I-55 S. We are a dynamic, multigenerational, diverse congregation of 270 members with 50 children and 40 youth.

We are seeking an energetic person to plan, implement and evaluate activities that will create a Christian community to support the Children’s Ministry program (Nursery through 5th grade) at Friendship UMC.

Expectations:

·         Attend worship services on Sunday mornings

·         Be available to supervise Sunday School, implement Advent, Christmas and Lenten programs and as well as Vacation Bible School in the summer

·         Work with church volunteers to help train and implement children’s programs

·         Work with parents, Pastor and Children’s Ministry Committee

·         Have values consistent with United Methodist theology, providing spiritual growth to the children of FUMC

Job qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred

·         Experience with Christian education preferred

·         Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills

Compensation: Part time salaried position with flexible hours (including seasonal and some evening hours)
