Mobile Workforce Center to make regular stop at Bolingbrook Library

JOLIET – Fountaindale Public Library in Bolingbrook will once again host the Will County Mobile Workforce Center each Monday beginning in March.

The Workforce Services Division’s mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including jobs4people.org and Illinois workNet.

WSD Administrative Manager Susan Flessner says the library is a good addition to the schedule. “Fountaindale will be a good host for our Mobile Workforce Center. One thing we look for in a site is space where our staff can set up and offer our services when the van has to be off for maintenance. The library is a place that will allow us to provide uninterrupted service to our County residents on Mondays.”

Christopher Halvorsen, Assistant Manager of Adult and Teen Services at Fountaindale, said, “We’re very happy to have them back.”  MWC used to park at the library until its construction project began in 2009.

Most recently the unit had been at Bolingbrook IDES, 321 Quadrangle Drive, which is scheduled to close in March.

MWC will be at the library, 300 W. Briarcliff, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, except for holidays.

The schedule for the rest of the week remains the same.

The unit will be at the main entrance to Governors State University, 1 University Parkway, University Park, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St., Plainfield, will host the unit from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays except for Feb. 12.

MWC can be found at Wilmington City Hall, 1165 S. Water St., Wilmington, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursdays.

It will be at Mokena Community Public Library, 11327 W. 195th St., Mokena, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Fridays.

Will County Executive Larry Walsh encourages job seekers to take advantage of the service, which is offered at no cost to County residents. Workforce Services is under the County Executive’s office and is led by Flessner.
