Jesse White Tumblers, Dancers to Perform at Bolingbrook Black History Month Event Feb. 9

Bolingbrook's Black History Awareness Club will hold its annual Black History Month social event Feb. 9 at Bolingbrook High School.

The Black History Awareness Club in Bolingbrook will host its 13th annual social event Feb. 9 at Bolingbrook High School. 

The event is "geared to all residents in Bolingbrook regardless of race and origin to assist in building bridges of tolerance and understanding," according to a release. The event will be free and open to the general public and will be held at the Bolingbrook High School Auditorium, 365 Raider Way.  

Doors will be open at 1:30 p.m.; the program will begin at 2 p.m.

This year the Master of Ceremony will be Casper from Chicago's V103 Radio Station.

This year's featured performers will be the Jessie White Tumblers. Their acrobatic performances can frequently be seen during half-time shows for the National Basketball Association, the National Football League and Major League Baseball games.

The program will also feature Sankofa Dance Ensemble, a captivating production involving music, singing, poetry, dance, drama and dramatic speeches.

All honor roll students in the Valley View School District 365U will be recognized by Bolingbrook Deputy Mayor Leroy Brown.
