5 Things to Know For Memorial Day Weekend

1. Bolingbrook Grey Core Annual Memorial Day Weekend Carnival

Celebrate the 21th anniversary of this great event, which features rides, carnival games, food and friends, and runs through Monday evening. You can buy ride wristbands for just $20. The carnival is open from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. today through Sunday, and on Monday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., at Bolingbrook Village Hall, 375 W. Briarcliff Road.

2. St. Francis Flea Market and Craft Fair

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, at , 1501 W. Boughton Road.

3. Pelican Harbor Opens

Weather permitting, for the summer on Saturday. Enjoy the lazy river, four water slides, diving well, zero depth pool, fun spray playground, lap pool, hot tub, beach volleyball and concessions.

4. DuPage County Forest Preserve's Family Field Day

St. James Forest Preserve in Warrenville will be holding , a celebration of the preserve’s equestrian and agrarian history from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The free family-friendly event will provide plenty of activities including riding demonstrations held by the Equestrian Fiesta Troupe and Midwest Renegades, along with pony rides for children 12 and under. Hay-filled wagon rides as well as archery and fishing will be taking place throughout the day. Admission is free, but a $5 fee applies for certain activities and reservations are not required. St. James Farm’s Forest Preserve is located on Winfield road just north of Butterfield Road in Warrenville. 5. Memorial Day services

Memorial Day services will be held at 9:45 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, 384 E Boughton Road, and at 11 a.m. at the Town Center, 375 Briarcliff Road.
