Halloween: Fountaindale Library Site of Bolingbrook Costume Exchange

Spokeswoman says it's a great way to recycle costumes and save money in the process.

Do your children need new costumes for Halloween?

Are you on a tight budget? Well, then the folks at the Fountaindale Public Library have an event that might work for you: The library's second annual Costume Exchange is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5.

"It's a great way to recycle costumes and save money in the process," said library communications manager Chrissy Little.

Also, she said residents may donate a gently used costume and receive a certificate for one free costume. (Multiple costumes can be donated and you will receive the same number of costume certificates in exchange, limit 5).

Little said adult and children's costumes will be accepted and must be in good condition. All costume donations will be accepted from Saturday, Sept. 28, to Friday, Oct. 4. Individuals who donate costumes must attend the exchange on Oct. 5 to turn in their certificates and pick up "new" costumes.

Little said there is no cost for admission or participation in the Costume Exchange, which will take place in Meeting Room A of the library (open only to adults). Meeting Room B will be set up with children's activities so parents can shop for costumes while their children are entertained.

The library is located at 300 W. Briarcliff Road, Bolngbrook.
