The Bolingbrook Rotary Club will host its first mac and cheese cookoff benefit from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Tailgaters.

Do you have a macaroni and cheese recipe that involves more than just boiling noodles and stirring in a packet of powdered cheese?

If so, the Bolingbrook Rotary Club is looking for you.

This month, members are hosting a mac and cheese cookoff benefit from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at sports bar. The Rotary is looking for more participants to enter and have their recipes judged.

“This is our first ever mac and cheese bake-off,” said Rotary member Kim Coyne. “The idea came about from a brain-storming session involving several Rotarians. We thought a mac and cheese bake-off would be a fun way to get residents and community leaders together. And who doesn't like mac'n'cheese?”

The community is invited to come out and sample the dishes. Tickets are $20 at Tailgaters or at www.bolingbrookrotary.org. Kids under 12 are $5 and kids 3 and under are free. While available, tickets will also be sold at the door.

The evening will also include raffles and door prizes.

The winning recipe will win a booth at the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce's annual Taste of Bolingbrook in May, along with a $100 Tailgaters gift card. Tailgaters will also be offering a buffet meal complete with non-alcoholic beverages and a cash bar.
