Some minor damage and fallen tree limbs were reported within the village, but Bolingbrook was fortunate considering the strenth of the storm, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa.

A tree toppled onto a moving vehicle in Plainfield, pinning the occupants inside, .

Firefighters had to cut the limb to get the occupants out of the car, although no one was hurt, according to Plainfield Deputy Chief Jon Stratton.

“They all refused treatment,” he said. “I don’t know how they got out, to be honest with you — by the grace of God on this one.”

The storms also chased faregoers from the REO Speedwagon concert in Joliet and .

Here are some comments from Bolingbrook residents about the storm:

Friday:

Romeoville still has quite a few spots without power, including my house. There's a run on ice bags at the local 7-11 to keep the fridge food cold.

Power is fine here hope everyone else is okay

Power is out south of 135th street in Romeoville. My daughters home is without electricity. Several trees down, blocking her street. Lots of damage to cars.

Sunday:

Came thru with no real winds or too heavy rain, think it broke right around us (Boughton & Hartford/Orchard)

Clearing up in Naperville.Rt59/Diehl Rd.area.Just a little rain and wind. Not a big deal.

No wind no rain. Just a couple lightning flashes, nothing even close to severe. Just weather forecasters overreacting.

The temp feels amazing!

I swear bbrook has a special force field around us: looks like (again) it just split right around us.
