Go Raiders: Bolingbrook Homecoming Week is Sept. 23-28

This year's dance theme is "Under the Sea."

Bolingbrook High School has announced plans for Homecoming 2013 which begins Monday, Sept. 23, and concludes with a Saturday, Sept. 28, homecoming dance.

Throughout the week, students will observe “Spirit Week” with different daily themes. Monday is Kindergarten Day, Tuesday is Character Day, Wednesday is Western Day, Thursday is Thrift Shop Day and Friday is Spirit Day.

The traditional Homecoming Powderpuff Football activities will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25. The entry fee is $1 per person. Those who bring one or more cans of food will be admitted free. Money and cans collected will go to the Bolingbrook Food Pantry.

Students will gear up for the weekend with a 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, Pep Rally at the BHS Stadium where the homecoming King, Queen and court will be introduced. Nomination forms for court, which are available at the BHS bookstore, must be turned in by 2 p.m. on Sept. 18.

The Raiders will take on Joliet West in the homecoming football game Friday evening with sophomores kicking off at 5 p.m. and varsity at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Saturday evening’s homecoming dance, “Under the Sea,” will be from 7 to 10 p.m. in the BHS fieldhouse. Tickets, at $20 per person, are available at the BHS bookstore before and after school only. No tickets will be sold at the door. Requests to have guests from other schools attend must be made using guest request forms by 2 p.m. Sept. 18.
