'Bowling for Boobs' Fundraiser Sunday at AMF Bolingbrook Lanes

A fundraiser hosted by a Bolingbrook resident battling breast cancer will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

A Bolingbrook woman battling breast cancer is hosting the fourth annual candlelight "Bowling for Boobs" fundraiser at the AMF Bolingbrook Lanes.

The fundraiser will take place Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and is the support of the Chicagoland Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure this Mother's Day, May 12.

Kathy Barri was diagnosed with Stage 0 Carcinoma Situ breast cancer in 2008 at the age of 50. Barri caught the disease early but still had to endure 30 rounds of radiation with several boosters over the past five years.

Barri's support of finding a cure for breast cancer is strong and the support extends to her entire family who also support the cause. This year her team "Treasure Chests" is setting their goal for 30 to 40 walkers and hope to raise $5,000 with their fundraising efforts.
