Bolingbrook Promenade Under New Ownership

$80 million deal closed over the weekend.

A reported $80 million deal to sell Bolingbrook's Promenade shopping center closed over the weekend, according to WJOL.

Forest City Enterprises sold the property, minus the Macy's store, to Starwood Retail Partners. The $152 million development opened in 2007.

The sale included the 628,000-square-foot retail center with stores like Bass Pro Shops, Binny's and Barnes & Noble. Macy's, which operates on its own land, was not included in the sale.

Starwood Retail Partners also operates the Louis Joliet Mall and Chicago Ridge Mall.

Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar said he believes Starwood will use its assets to take the Promenade "to the next level," according to WJOL.
