Charge Your Electric Car at the Bolingbrook IKEA

The location is only the 13th U.S. store to get electric vehicle charging stations.

Attention eco-conscious drivers: If you've got an electric vehicle, Bolingbrook has a place to charge it.

The Bolingbrook IKEA store, 750 E. Boughton Rd., now has four electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

The stations, the result of the Swedish furniture dealer's partnership with Car Charging Group Inc., were officially "plugged in" on Thursday, according to the Wall Street Journal.

To charge your EV, drivers need to be members of the Blink Network, "a rich infrastructure of over 4,000 charging stations," and have a Blink InCard. After pulling into a designated parking spot and tapping their Blink InCard, drivers simply plug the charger into the EV, "and then shop and eat at their leisure in the IKEA store while the vehicle is charging," WSJ said.

The Bolingbrook location is the 13th U.S. IKEA store with EV plug-in charging stations.

Bolingbrook's more than 300,000-square-foot IKEA store has been open since 2005.
