CNN Ranks Bolingbrook in Top 100 Best Places to Live

In its list of America's best small cities, CNN Money ranks Bolingbrook at No. 61.

Bolingbrook has been ranked 61st in CNN Money's Top 100 Best Places to Live

CNN noted two main reasons for Bolingbrook's ranking:

  • Opportunities for family-friendly leisure such as local theater, the farmers' market and sports programs
  • Job opportunities as firms relocate their headquarters to the village

See Bolingbrook stats and ranking on the CNN Money website.

Wheaton and Naperville were also ranked. Naperville was named 53rd best place to live and Wheaton was 80th.

If Bolingbrook was not in such close proximity to Naperville , it would have never made the list.

Hey fake Fracncis isn't it time somebody gave you an attitude adjustment. I guess you are another low life scum!

Nice to hear good news about my town. Thanks Mayor Claar, another well deserved feather in your cap!

I moved here in 2003 from Western Springs and I couldn't love it more here. I work for the. Bolingbrook Park District and even after all these years, I am amazed at the excellence of that organization and all they offer and do for the people of this community. In this community I have met the absolute nicest people and families. Just get involved in your community and I think you would be proud to live and work here, I am. If not, you have other excellent places nearby to consider.

Yes, the people make the community! If everybody takes pride, respects and gets involved in the community it will continue to be a great place to live. I talk to many people outside Bolingbrook and they comment on how the town has so much to offer. Enjoy what Bolingbrook has to offer.

Naperville is very nice to have close by, but compared to other suburbs Bolingbrook still stands on its own. It has 3 large fully developed shopping corridors with a great variety of stores, restaurants, and theaters (Weber, 53 and The Promenade). Most towns are lucky to have one partially developed one. Most people of other suburbs don't believe me until they really spend some time here and see everything that is available.

Wonderful to hear some positive comments from the good people of Bolingbrook. I have lived here since 1971 and have raised two children here and plan on living out my life here among my wonderful friends..I love my hometown and I don't care if CNN says it's a good place to live or not, because I know it is.

It's unfortunate that there were cutbacks w/our Code Enforcement Division because we certainly can use them to start ticketing people who are not maintaining their homes, especially in the Cherrywood Subdivision. I've lived in BB for 36 years and my children have done exceptionally well in the Valley View School system (before it tanked), but I have a real concern come the time to sell my house that I won't make enough on it to purchase something else smaller or in a "senior" community. I know Mayor Claar drives down Delaware to get to Village Hall and I'm surprised that he hasn't noticed all of the homes on Delaware alone that are not being maintained, not to mention Lee Lane, Lexington, Plymouth, Lincolnshire Lane and Court, etc.

I got here before it was officially Bolingbrook - voted in the incorporation vote - and have seen this towns ups and downs -and thru it all it just keeps getting better - not unlike the rest of this country, things are tough right now, but Bolingbrook still more than holds its own and thats a lot better than a lot of places - well deserved recognition! thanks CNN, but we that live here knew it before you.....

Great News!!! Congratulations not only to the many leaders of our village who made the village what it is today but especially to the citizens of Bolingbrook who have supported the growth and development of the village. Everyone who lives here needs to pat themselves on the back for a little self praise.

BOLINGBROOK Sucks plain and simple
jaskie1505 August 21, 2012 at 08:32 PM
Preston, so what I hear you saying is Bolingbrook is pretty much like vanilla. I'm sure if you look around you will find many other flavors as well. Bolingbrook offers a multitude of opportunities for social, family, jobs, etc. The "flavors" are there for the taking. You just need to look for them.

Bolingbrook has a great many good features at the same time it has some of the societal ills of the age. This village is almost entirely a creation of one man who has put together a big team. We all must do our own part in the betterment of our area.

Bolingbrook has a MUCH better location than most of Naperville. We are so close to 55 and 355. I am minutes from either expressway and love it.
