OKTOBERFEST AT GORDON BIERSCH - SEPTEMBER 11TH

Gordon Biersch Brewery & Restaurant is delighted to announce their partnership with the Village of Bolingbrook to provide the biggest and best Oktoberfest in the area on Tuesday, September 11, 2012.

The 2012 Oktoberfest at Gordon Biersch Brewery & Restaurant is sponsored by the Bolingbrook Arts Council and will benefit local charities.  The event is free to attend, offering a plethora of good old fashioned activities including three food and beer tents, live musical entertainment provided by the Oktoberfest Oompah Band from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., DJ entertainment from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.  A Stein Contest, German Dancers, Vendors, and a Kids Area with face painting, clown and stilt walker will provide something for everyone to enjoy Bolingbrook’s grandest Oktoberfest celebration to date.   Prizes, Raffles and Giveaways will be awarded throughout the evening including a Weekend Getaway for Four to Tundra Lounge and Water Park Resort.

In tradition with the celebration of Oktoberfest, Gordon Biersch Brewery & Restaurant will tap their annual Festbier during the event.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local charities.  Gordon Biersch *FestBier Tapping celebrates Autumn and the flavor profiles of beers
served at the modern day Oktoberfest. Originally, the Oktoberfest was held in the middle of October. The brewers created the modern day Oktoberfest beer with a lighter body than Märzen but a more robust, hoppy flavor, resulting in FestBier. The maltiness is created via a combination of dark-roasted Munich malt and pilsner malt, and the hoppy aroma is achieved via the imported Hallertau and Tettnang aroma hops. FestBier is available seasonally from through October.
