Foreclosures Down in Will County, Bolingbrook

Most foreclosed on homes are on Bolingbrook's east side of town, report shows.

New foreclosure filings are down slightly in compared to last year, according to a California-based real estate tracking company.

RealtyTrac data shows that last month, 132 properties in Bolingbrook received foreclosure filings, .

Most of those foreclosed on homes are on the village's east side of town, where 106 foreclosure properties are listed compared to 26 on Bolingbrook's west side of town.

And, countywide, the number of filings has plummeted even more since the height of the foreclosure crisis.

According to the Herald-News, the number of Will County foreclosures dropped 33 percent in 2011, compared to the 2010 high of 11,027. Last year, there were 7,387 foreclosures countywide.

New foreclosures also dipped slightly in Will County as 2011 came to a close. There were 948 new filings in January 2011, compared with 902 in December 2011, according to RealtyTrac.
